Project Description
Operations Building 90157 is currently being constructed as an educational facility for multiple companies located within Fort Hood. The new educational building will effectively use and encourage many sustainable practices, including the promotion of alternative transportation and recycling, optimized energy performance, and a major focus on indoor environmental quality, both while occupied by students and during construction.

Operations Building 90157 will be the 1st Army Building built to meet LEED Certification. The LEED Certification consultants were engaged late in the building process, and were called on to help resuscitate the project through compiling, documenting, and organizing information along with implementing the necessary practices to make progress towards the LEED-NC Silver Target Rating.

Services Provided
Green Living, LLC LEED Certification consultants worked hands-on with the contracted design team in anticipation of achieving the goal of LEED-NC Silver. Specific input for this project included, but was not limited to analysis of the ongoing building specifications so as to ensure the target LEED-NC Certification could be achieved. It also entailed recommending solutions towards gaining additional points associated with the LEED Certification process, day-to-day documenting responsibilities, LEED-Online submittals, and product research and recommendation to ensure LEED compliance late in the building process.
